We’re excited to announce auditions for ‘Cognitive Dissonance,’ a new play written by Lucy Elmes and co-directed by Lucy Elmes and Tom Gasson. The performance will take place in the atmospheric Crypt of the stunning Mount Without on February 10th-12th, 2025. Check out the venue here: The Mount Without
This is a unique and immersive theatre experience with a small, dynamic cast of nine actors: 2 female roles, 3 male roles, and 4 roles that are flexible. We’re looking for enthusiastic and collaborative performers ready to explore interesting lighting techniques, physical theatre, and immersive storytelling.
Cognitive Dissonance
A local Am-dram group’s production is descended into chaos when the show is interrupted by a cast member’s sudden death in the wings. In a desperate attempt to regain some control, the director and producer encourage the audience to spread out and try to relax while the police are called. This allows small bits of conversation, and perhaps motives, to be overheard throughout the Crypt where the show is performed. How many people have to die before the murder, or murderers, are discovered?

We will also be doing call-backs on the 21st at The Stag and Hounds, Old Market. Please come prepared with one of the designated scenes:
