Things to consider when putting together a show proposal for the Clifton Club
- Any production at the Clifton Club needs to be in keeping with the history & look of the Club so a period play would be more suitable
- You will need to put on one free show for members in exchange for the free ‘hire’ of The Centenary Room at the Club
- No painting (there is a very large one that cannot be touched) or mirror in the room can be taken down. The piano can be removed for the show at a cost of £400
- The stage can only be 4m x 2m due to the size of the room provided
- There is no space for stage wings so it would be wise to keep scene changes to a minimum (realistically a maximum of 2)
- The room is very hot so action might need to be taken to account for this
- There can be only 50 guests per show due to the size of the room
- You must be mindful of the Club and the staff there. For example, if there’s a member’s night on, access to the room might not be until later. The interests of the Club need to be the priority
- One large room adjacent to the Centenary Room is made available from 5pm on every day of show week as a changing room
- A few CADS members need to be present to keep an eye on guests during the shows
- Any advertising for the production should include the Clifton Club logo
