Read-through of The Anniversary

This is an informal meet-up to give everyone an opportunity to hear and read the play (“The Anniversary by Bill Macilwraith) in its entirety and to express an interest in particular parts. It’s definitely worth attending if you’re interested in auditioning for this show!

Auditions for the show will be on Tuesday 3rd July and Thursday 5th July from 7.30 pm onwards at the Nova Scotia and the play will be performed at the Alma Theatre from 7th – 10th November 2018.

Plot summary:
Two of three sons have something important to tell Mum. Terry, the pensive middle son, wants to leave the family business to emigrate to Canada with his wife and children. Tom, the youngest, wants to marry the latest in a long line of girlfriends. Their problem is how and when to deliver their news – that is, if they can muster the bravery needed to tell her at all – because Mum, evil, malevolent and fanatically domineering, is used to getting her own way and intends to keep her world intact at any cost…
