Shakes'beer' Promenade - Auditions
Last year, for the first time, we took to the streets of Clifton Village for a promenade performance in honour of Shakespeare’s birthday. It was such a success that we have decided to return for round 2!
We’ll be performing several shows on both the 22nd and 23rd of April.
This year, the theme is ‘All’s Fair in Love and War’ – think lovers’ tiffs, dastardly historical plots and thrilling duels.
Auditions will take place on the 27th February at Clifton Library.  There will be two slots to chose from: the first from 7.30 pm and the second from 8.30 pm. It will be a relaxed process where you’ll get the chance to meet other people interested in the show.

We’ll ask you to perform one of two monologues and the Demetrius/Helena scene with another person auditioning – you can find a document with these pieces here. You’re also welcome to perform an additional extract of your own choosing.
As well as actors, we need couple of assistant directors who would be interested in helping with individual scenes. The final list of scenes will depend on who auditions and will be worked out alongside the producers in order to create the best possible running order. However, we would love to hear your suggestions. You’d be expected to be at the auditions so we can start to work out which actors could fit the proposed roles/scenes.
Anyone interested in assistant directing should email us by the 24th of February.
Rehearsals will then take place from the w/c 6th March onwards.  Thanks to the nature of the show, you’ll be able to commit as much of your time as you are able. A smaller part in one scene might mean as little as a couple of hours rehearsal a week.
